We are happy and proud to share with you a beautiful article published in the newsletter of the Pôle City Ressources et Social Development, in their edition of May 2025, which highlights our association, our mission, our founders and our Cape to Ghana immersion program 🌍

💡 An associative project born from strong convictions

In this article, the Resources Division looks back on the career of our founder, Adesola Sekumade, from Villiers-le-Bel, who after several mobility experiences (including an internship in Nigeria and a position at GIP Charles-de-Gaulle Alliance), wanted to create a structure that gives access to international mobility to Africa, especially for young people from the African diaspora.

She worked with Nawel Nesri (strategy, funding, impact) and Hélène Maizeroi (partnerships and donor relations) to develop a human, inclusive and structured approach.

“Little thought is given to African countries for these immersions, yet they are also spaces of initiatives, opportunities and encounters.” Adesola Sekumade

✈️ Heading to Ghana: immersion, SSE and engagement

Since 2022, Sailing Stone has been offering the “Cap sur le Ghana” program, a professional immersion course in social and solidarity economy structures in Accra, with the support of our local partners JA Ghana and SE Ghana.

Every year, young people from the territory are selected on the basis of their motivation and project (resumption of studies, break-out, entrepreneurship…). They benefit from:

A complete support upstream (language preparation, professional posture, cultural workshops)
An individual internship in a local structure according to their profile
Follow-up on return to enhance experience and strengthen their integration

💼 High impact internships

The examples cited in the Resources article speak for themselves:

  • Market research for an agricultural company focused on French-speaking Africa
  • Creating the visual identity of a digital training academy
  • Participation in mentoring, upcycling or educational robotics
All these experiences are both professional, human and deeply enriching.

📢 And tomorrow ?

We still have many ambitions for the years ahead:

  • Expand the program to other cities
  • Strengthen the link with African diasporas
  • Create awareness workshops on mobility Africa
  • Consolidate our business model to last over time

🙏 Thank you again to the Resources Division for their trust and for providing a great forum for our action.
