Helloooo I am Chanelle the new and FIRST intern at Sailing Stone! This is my first blog post and for the occasion, I would like to give you a little feedback on the program ‘Cap sur le Ghana’ and make a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!
But first of all, how did I find out about Sailing Stone, you might ask? I found out about them through the Camplus association in which I am also a student and which is also one of our partners. I saw the program and I thought it was really cool, plus it was in line with my professional project. Before the trip, we had several workshops on Ghana, Pan-Africanism, entrepreneurship with inspiring people and African political figures like Kwame Nkrumah.
When I went to Ghana, it was just magical. The landscapes, the Ghanaians are obviously kind and the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that they whisper in public spaces. On the professional level, I was in charge of communication for Luminate Careers Services. The working methods are different from those in France I find. They are more focused on the result rather than on the process. It was in Ghana that I learned what a persona was in marketing. I was able to create posts and a communication strategy to target young people and their parents with the different jobs they can do after their studies and especially that there are many sectors to explore depending on what they like. It was a pleasure to work with Desmond and his team. I leave with memories full of my head and this experience I will not soon forget. I highly recommend you to do the program you will learn a lot whether it is culturally, professionally and personally (I did not think I would be able to eat such hot pepper).
NOW, the GOOD news is this: This year the program is back from June 21 to July 5!!! If you are between 18 and 25 years old, you are studying and/or you are looking to have an experience abroad this program is for you.
