🌍 Reconnecting with Her Roots
When asked why she chose Ghana, 25-year-old Lise answers simply :
“My grandfather was Ghanaian. I’d been wanting to go for years.” – Lise
But this wasn’t just a travel dream. It was a personal mission: stepping outside her comfort zone, improving her English, and exploring the Ghanaian professional landscape.
Thanks to Sailing Stone’s Cap sur le Ghana program, she finally turned that intention into action.
💼 A Meaningful Mission at Blossom Academy
Lise was welcomed by Blossom Academy, a social enterprise in Accra offering free training in data, AI, and digital marketing to unemployed youth.
“From day one, I felt like I belonged. The team was incredibly warm.” – Lise
Working alongside her colleague Irene, Lise took on a key project: creating the company’s Brand Guidelines. It was a demanding task, laying the foundation for consistent and values-driven communication at Blossom.
💬 An Experience That Met Every Expectation
No panic, no anxiety. Lise left with calm, but also a good dose of curiosity.
Introverted, she had some fears about community life. Finally?
Everything was done naturally. Between moments of sharing, laughter in the company, and the autonomy left to everyone, she found a soothing balance.
“I surprised myself by feeling so at ease. And speaking English without overthinking it. Immersion really does work.” – Lise
✨ What She Takes Away from It
New discoveries. Real connections. Practical experience.
A clearer understanding of what it means to work on the African continent.
And above all, proof that skills can be built in inspiring, unconventional settings.
“I realized there are so many powerful initiatives in Ghana. And that even as an intern, you can make a real impact.” – Lise
Her only downside?
“The traffic jams in the evening… but that’s nothing compared to everything I experienced.” – Lise
✅ Would She Recommend It? 1000% Yes!
“I loved this internship from start to finish. If you’re hesitating to join Sailing Stone… just go. You’ll come back changed.” – Lise
